From Times Staff and Wire Reports

U.N. experts rummaged through a military site north of Baghdad as part of their efforts to make sure that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s ballistic missile capability is destroyed. There were no reports of resistance or lack of cooperation when the team of 13 took an inventory of components and tools at the site, which was not named. “Everything went the way we wanted,” said Frenchman Patrice Palanque, the leader of a team that includes American, Russian, French, British, Italian and German experts. There was no Iraqi official to receive the experts, the bus that brought them to Baghdad from the military airport at Habbaniya, 35 miles west of the Iraqi capital, was late and immigration procedures took a long time.
