Cummins, Komatsu Consider Engine Joint Venture: Cummins Engine Co. has agreed in principle with Komatsu Ltd. to jointly develop high-quality diesel engines, officials said. The companies said they are considering producing Cummins small diesel engines in Japan and that the engines would be installed in Komatsu’s construction equipment and sold in Cummins’ regional markets. The companies are also considering production of a large Komatsu engine at a Cummins facility.
