Hail, Atlanta: Speaking of Atlanta, contractors here are going where the going is good.

R.D. Olson Construction in Anaheim is now on its fourth restaurant project in that city. California Pizza Kitchen, in an aggressive expansion program, has tapped the contractor to build a 6,800-square-foot, $900,000 restaurant in Atlanta’s Perimeter Mall.

The company also is working on a 9,000-square-foot, $2.5-million restaurant elsewhere in the city for Houston’s Restaurants Inc. The eatery, which has an American menu, already has locations in Huntington Beach and Century City.

Two other Atlanta projects are finished--the construction company completed a CPK and a Houston’s in December.

“There is no question that Atlanta is becoming a hotbed of construction activity in preparation for the Summer Games,” company President Robert Olson said. His firm also has a shot at getting several other projects in the city as well.
