Abortion Protesters

You praise the state appeals court decision allowing judges to order protesters away from face-to-face confrontations with patients outside abortion clinics (editorial, Feb. 15). That is good.

It would be even more effective if clinics started filing civil lawsuits for slander. It is certainly slander to call someone a “murderer” who has not in fact committed a murder. Perhaps clinics could recover some of the financial losses they have suffered as a result of protester actions.
