Shooting at Reseda High

In response to your editorial, “Getting Tough With School Troublemakers,” Feb. 24:

The school board did not install metal detectors in the schools because they were too expensive. Remember the crisis in air travel several years ago when air piracy became fashionable? In a very short time there were security guards, X-ray machines and metal detectors in every airport.

Americans like to think of themselves as a people who love and value children. However, when it comes to adequately funding schools through taxation, the conservatives win.
