SHERMAN OAKS : Residents to Hear Police Chief Speak
Police Chief Willie L. Williams is scheduled to speak at a Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn. meeting this month.
“We invited him because there’s a feeling among residents in the Valley that the Valley is becoming more and more unsafe,” association president Richard Close said. “The public wants to know what the new chief is doing to make the Valley safer and to be in a position to avoid a riot like that which occurred in April, ’92.”
The meeting, which will be open to the public, will be at 8 p.m. Mar. 17 in the auditorium of the Dixie Canyon Avenue Elementary School, 4220 Dixie Canyon Ave.
