Countywide : Freeway Car-Pool Access Hearing Set

Share

The Orange County Transportation Authority is holding a public hearing Wednesday on proposed direct-access freeway ramps for car pools, van pools and buses near the Irvine Business Center.

The public is invited to comment on the $200-million project, which will feature ramps that will allow car-pool vehicles to enter and exit freeway car-pool lanes without having to merge with congested freeway traffic.

The ramps will provide car pools, van pools and buses direct access to the San Diego Freeway at Bear Street, the San Diego Freeway at Von Karman Avenue and the Costa Mesa Freeway at Sunflower Avenue.

The project is part of the voter-approved Measure M half-cent sales tax package of projects and is included in regional transportation plans.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Irvine City Hall’s Conference and Training Center, One Civic Plaza.

Public comments will be incorporated into the draft plan, which will be presented to the OCTA Board of Directors.
