Countywide : Board OKs Hike in Medical Center Fees
Ventura County supervisors Tuesday agreed to increase hospital fees at Ventura County Medical Center by up to 20%--a move that is expected to raise about $200,000 a year.
But the supervisors also decided to offer 25% discounts in medical services to patients who do not have insurance.
County officials said the increase was necessary to keep the county’s billing rates in line with other hospitals.
“We have to make sure we are maximizing all of our reimbursements,” said Pierre Durand, hospital administrator.
