BURBANK : Drugs Found in Car of Shoplift Suspect
Burbank police officers said they discovered $40,000 worth of cocaine in a car belonging to a man arrested Tuesday for shoplifting a pair of shoes from Price Club in Burbank.
Oleg Kotlyarevsky, 26, of Hollywood and Julia Svikschevski, 24, of Russia were arrested on suspicion of transporting narcotics for sale, Lt. Joe Valento said. They were being held in lieu of $500,000 bail each.
The two were initially arrested for trying to steal a pair of shoes from the Price Club on Sherman Way, but when officers searched Kotlyarevsky’s Honda Prelude they discovered more than 4 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $40,000, Valento said. Officers also found $2,200 in cash on Kotlyarevsky, he said.
