Mazda Still Seeking European Base: Mazda Motor Corp. last week gave up plans to build cars in Europe with Ford Motor Co., but the Japanese car maker says it is still determined to find a European manufacturing base. But he said Mazda was already talking with other firms about a European venture. The U.S. car maker owns 24.5% of Mazda.
