In response to “Ancient Traditions vs. the Law,” Feb. 18: This article discusses the African practice of female circumcision and how African immigrants to Europe get in trouble with the law because of it. If the circumcision of female infants is child mutilation, is the circumcision of male infants also not child mutilation? CHARLES F. KOOS Torrance
