Players International to Take Over Riverboat

Players International Inc. said it has reached agreement to assume full ownership of a proposed riverboat-casino project based in Lake Charles, La.

Calabasas-based Players had been a partner in the project with Jebaco Inc. in Louisiana. But Players said it agreed to acquire full control in exchange for options that enable Jebaco to invest in Players stock.

More specific terms were not disclosed.

Players is hoping to make the Lake Charles riverboat its second floating casino. The company recently began operating a riverboat casino based in Metropolis, Ill., on the Ohio River.
