Report on Human Rights

Share

There are so many things to say in response to special report that it is easier to just condemn the whole section as pro-collectivist, pro-socialist, claptrap than to go through it piece by piece with a letter for each essay.

From the farce of “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (a right to a job? to medical care? at what cost? at whose expense?), the glorification of patriarchal, fascist Singapore, the tired, old, bromide of “people are inherently evil” so they should be controlled, and, of course, America is rotten because it does not march in lock-step with the rest of the world, etc.

I think in the spirit of equality and open-mindedness that The Times should allow a future Opinion Section to be dedicated to pro-individualist, pro-capitalist, contemporary writers.
