Dead-Beat Dads
I applaud Joseph Cotchett’s lawsuit against the Navy on behalf of Amerasian children born in the Philippines (March 5). Similar lawsuits could be filed on behalf of children in South Korea and in Okinawa.
The current off-duty conduct of U.S. servicemen in these places is a disgrace to our nation. We continue to foster prostitution on a grand scale. The innocent victims are the children conceived out of wedlock and abandoned by their American fathers.
America is liable. We are one big unrepentant dead-beat dad.
