Skeletal remains found in a shallow grave in the Angeles National Forest were confirmed Friday as those of a missing Northridge woman, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the remains, found March 3, as those of Kimberly Pandelios after relatives in Pennsylvania sent authorities her complete dental records, sheriff’s officials said.

Pandelios, 20, was last seen Feb. 27, 1992, after telling a baby-sitter that she was heading to the Burbank-Glendale area for a modeling shoot. The next day, her car was found burned beside a road nearly two miles from where a hiker found the remains earlier this month, officials said.

The bones will be returned early next week to family members on the East Coast, Deputy Diane Hecht said. Investigation into the killing is continuing but detectives have no new leads in the case, she said.
