U.S. champion Nancy Kerrigan leads 15-year-old Ukrainian Oksana Baiul after the women’s technical program at the World Championships at Prague, Czech Republic. Kerrigan is the U.S. team’s final chance to take home any kind of medal in these championships.

Russian couples swept the ice dancing competition, with the championship going to Maia Usova and Aleksandr Zhulin, the Olympic bronze medalists. Second place went to Oksana Gritschuk and Evgeni Platov and third to Angelika Krylova and Vladimir Fedorov.

U.S. ice dancers Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur, a Russian emigre, were 11th; Susan Wynne and Russ Witherby were 15th.
