What Would Happen if Norms Changed?

Regarding Carol Tavris’ very insightful article on PMS (“You Haven’t Come Very Far, Baby,” March 4), it would be interesting to see what would happen if we would base the norm on women’s behavior instead of men’s. I wonder how much violence would disappear if women were considered the norm and men’s mood swings were characterized as disorders and subsequently controlled.
