Illegal Immigration

In response to your editorial “Illegal Immigration: One Issue That Deserves Light, Not Heat,” March 7:

You state “what is most needed in discussions of immigration are solid facts and cool heads.” This is good advice. I’m confident that President Clinton will be more sensitive on this issue than the Republicans. Since Latinos were the impetus that put Bill Clinton in office, a call for more visas is in order and should be granted along with more humane treatment for the undocumented population.
