In her new post she is responsible for managing OCC’s extensive vocational programs that include 70 areas of study from power plant technology to early childhood education.

“America’s future is definitely in its community colleges. I’ve been at all levels of higher education, and this is a very exciting place to be,” Stanley said.

Before working for the state chancellor’s office, Stanley was chairwoman of the department of family studies and consumer sciences at Cal State Los Angeles.
