Debate Over National Health Care

Share

It takes a “helluva” nerve for the drug companies to take out an ad stating how wonderful they are and how little prescriptions cost. Regarding cost: My 78-year-old mother, with an income from Social Security of $800 a month, just refilled three prescriptions for one month; cost, $98.

Why did it cost $23 for a child’s vaccinations 10 years ago and over $200 now? I question the statement in the ad that “costs have stayed at below 1% for decades.” I have no sympathy for organizations that are out for sheer profit at the expense of the public. Bring on price controls.
