Teen Drivers and Alcohol

Share

Your March 7 editorial “Teens and Driving” was very informative. I agree wholeheartedly with the sensible proposal of having a driving curfew and 0.0 blood alcohol standard for 16- and 17-year-old teen-age drivers.

I also believe to make this proposal more effective and bring the auto accident and death rate even lower, California ought to adopt laws limiting midnight driving and 0.0 blood alcohol not only for 16- and 17-year-olds but for everyone under 21 years of age. Why don’t we do this once and for all and not wait for more accidents and fatalities to force us to raise the minimum age from 17 or 18 to 21?
