Set Free Church Asset to Anaheim
I own the building on Anaheim Boulevard right next door to where the Set Free Church was located (basically, inhabited) for many years (“Set Free Church Fights Eviction Notice,” Feb. 23). I operated my business there throughout those years, side by side with those people who dress “biker-style,” many of whom “are former convicts and drug addicts.” And believe me, they were there seven days a week.
They picked up trash along our streets, and they swept the sidewalks. They brought in hundreds of folks who purchased goods from the local shops. They were friendly for the most part; they often offered to lend a hand the way that neighbors used to in Anaheim. Most important, they cleaned up graffiti, which has increased dramatically since their departure. Were there some weird ones? You bet. But there are some weird ones in City Hall, too, who may be less effective.
