Gunmen shot and killed an Israeli reserve soldier in an ambush in the occupied West Bank on Saturday night, an army spokesman said.

The spokesman said two soldiers were also wounded when the gunmen fired on an army vehicle on patrol west of the Jewish settlement of Ariel.

Muslim gunmen earlier killed an Israeli soldier in a pre-dawn ambush in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the occupied Gaza Strip.

Palestinians said that Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinian youths and wounded 13 other people in the Gaza Strip. Israeli military officials said nine Palestinians were wounded in clashes in the strip.

The military arm of the Muslim fundamentalist organization Hamas said three of its men carried out the Jabaliya ambush.

Palestinians have killed 11 Israelis since Israel deported 415 alleged Islamic activists to Lebanon in December. Israelis have killed 63 Palestinians in the same period.
