LETTERS / FALLING DOWN : Proposition 13 Didn’t Cause the Troubles in L.A.

Concerning your commentaries on the movie “Falling Down,” I disagree almost totally with Peter Rainer (“Falling Down’ Trips Over Its Own Hate,” March 15). I am one of those middle--class--but--unemployed, mind--your--own--business white guys.

It’s all too easy to criticize from on high (namely a high--paying steady job). It’s another thing to walk a hundred miles in this Everyman’s shoes. There’s a lot of frustration out here.

Much more insightful were the observations and suggestions made by Baker: to seek out and find the fat cats, the greed--driven SOBs who are truly responsible for the mess L.A. is in! FRANK BRUNNER Northridge
