CAMARILLO : Constitution Park to Get Rose Garden
A Camarillo volunteer group has promised a rose garden for Constitution Park.
The Camarillo Constitution Park Committee, a citizens group dedicated to developing the park at Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo, has enlisted the help of some local garden enthusiasts to plant about 90 rosebushes in the park.
The city’s Planning Commission has approved the planned garden on the condition that the volunteers assume sole responsibility for pruning and caring for the roses, which will be planted in the park’s southwest corner, directly behind Paseo Camarillo shopping center.
Commissioner William Lusk said the rose garden will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The residents who will tend the garden will offer free lessons to other residents in caring for the delicate flowers, he said.
