Stronger Gun Laws

You abuse the tragedy of an officer’s murder to continue your campaign to gut the Second Amendment. Here’s your logic: The men who murder cops, an offense punishable by life in prison or the gas chamber, won’t buy and use guns because gun control laws could cost them a few months in jail. This defies common sense, substantiated by all precedent that gun control laws don’t work, and in fact exacerbate the problem by disarming only law-abiding citizens, resulting in an empowered and bolder group of criminals.

Recognize that the constitutionally guaranteed right to protect yourself is as legitimate as free speech and the sanctity of private property. We should work together to find solutions and respond effectively for the abatement of the abuse of that right, not frivolously abandon it.
