Religion and Violence

In response to “Why Fear Fundamentalism?” by Moorhead Kennedy, Commentary, March 15:

I and I am certain that other Muslims residing in the United States, appreciate Kennedy’s timely analysis of our frustration for the myopic view with which Islam is looked at in this country. Islam is very tolerant of the followers of other religions. Christians and Jews and other non-Muslims through the eons of the Islamic era in Eastern Europe and the Middle East or elsewhere lived in peace and harmonic coexistence with their Muslim neighbors.

I am sure the understanding of Islam would further develop in this country if the regional conflicts around the world are left as such. Muslims are not out to conquer the world; they only wish to be left alone to their religion.
