WORLD IN BRIEF : TAIWAN : Massacre Victims’ Relatives to Be Paid

A Taiwanese Cabinet committee has decided to compensate relatives of people killed in a 1947 massacre by government troops, committee members said. The committee, which includes ministers and leading businessmen, directed the Interior and Justice ministries to draft legislation providing compensation.
