February Deficit Hits $919.3 Million: Australia recorded a deficit of $919.3 million in February, compared to $829.8 million a year earlier, the government said. Finance Minister Ralph Willis said the country’s cumulative deficit in the first eight months of the financial year ending June 30 was $9.9 billion. The figure compares to a deficit of $8.87 billion in the year-earlier period.
