DANVILLE, Calif. — Prosecutors moved Wednesday to file vandalism charges against Danville’s town manager and city attorney for allegedly cutting down a roadside sign as a prank.
The sign’s owner is fighting the town for permission to build a museum of vintage fashion. She was invited to sign a misdemeanor complaint against Town Manager George Sipel, City Atty. Mark Doane and two others.
The alleged sign-cutting took place March 19 during a boisterous farewell party for a town employee.
