ANOTHER OJAI GROUP LOOKING FOR A PIGEON: The producers of the upcoming Ojai Art Center production of “Sherlock’s Last Case” are looking for a pigeon, reliable enough to fly onstage with a note, put it in Holmes’ hand and fly off. And they need it now.

THIS DINNER’S NO TURKEY: Director Marianne Corney seeks three men and three women, “with versatility, humor and ability” to play “up to 10 roles between the ages of 8 and 80” in the Conejo (Sunday) Afternoon Theater’s upcoming production of A. R. Gurney’s “The Dining Room.” Auditions will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 17 at the Conejo Players Theater, 351 S. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. The play will run Sunday afternoons, June 27 through July 17.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH “THE LADIES WHO LUNCH”: Auditions for George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s venerable “The Man Who Came to Dinner” will be held at 2:30 p.m., April 11, and at 7:30 p.m. on April 12-13, at the Conejo Players Theater, 351 S. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. Prospective actors will be expected to give cold readings from the text.

Rehearsals begin April 19 and run Monday-through-Wednesdays through May 17, then five nights a week until opening night, June 18. The play will then run Thursday through Saturday nights through July 24.
