Your editorial statement that “the widespread perception was that Bush and Reagan applied anti-abortion litmus tests to their nominees” should have been followed by the fact that Justices O’Connor, Kennedy and Souter have supported abortion rights to a degree that demonstrates that they are clearly not in agreement with Reagan and Bush on this issue, and thus they could not have been subjected to a pro-life litmus test similar to the pro-choice one that Clinton has vowed to use.
