Remembering Brussels

Share

Thank you for Christopher Reynold’s “Brussels Blooms” (March 21). I was touched to tears with memories. I moved to Brussels on my 21st birthday in 1971, just out of college and recently married--for many Americans (including my husband at the time) it was the time to either be drafted or start medical school abroad. For four years I had the pleasure of living, working and attending school in this different culture. Some of my fondest memories (of eating, of course) are of pomme frites with home-made mayonnaise. I still think about returning to our little railroad flat--you have inspired me!
