Moral Code of ‘Spur Posse’

While I’m skeptical of the fairness of rape allegations against the Spur Posse at Lakewood High School, I’m disgusted that they received a heroes’ welcome from fellow students (“Freed Members of the Spur Posse Get Heroes’ Welcome, March 24).

It is definitely not OK to rack up “points” for various sexual encounters. If this is where the Summer of Love has led us, then I’m ashamed to be a soldier of the sexual revolution. We did not batter down the uptight, frigid, rigid, hypocritical sexual mores of the older generation just so that today’s teens could turn sex into game of one-upmanship. Sex is a special act between special people. It’s not something to share with someone you wouldn’t care to share a pizza with.
