Moral Code of ‘Spur Posse’
While the acknowledged actions, let alone the alleged actions, of the Spur Posse are appalling beyond belief, the performance of The Times is even more pathetic. What message are you sending to other teen-agers by glorifying rather than merely reporting on these individuals?
Perhaps there was one teen-age student in Southern California this week who deserved a photo and recognition for something more than “shooting hoops” and defending the alleged rape of 11-year-old girls. Perhaps someone earned a scholarship to a music conservatory, or earned high honors at a science fair, or volunteered their services at a nursing home.
