LETTERS IN VIEW : Livelihood at Magnin Is Still a Healthy One

Share

Magnin CEO Joe Cicio’s reasoning for his failure resulting in the closings of various Magnin and Bullock’s stores is hilarious.

Having grown up in the Valley, I practically lived at Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. No matter how economic matters ebbed and flowed, I was always faithful to Bullock’s and Magnin since they always had the coolest, latest and best-priced.

Then one day (I swear it happened in one day) the store that had kept my charge card maxed out went from a fashion wonderland to a wasteland with row after endless row of cheap knit separates. Every woman I spoke to for two years asked the same question: What happened to Bullock’s?

Mr. Cicio, even though our wallets bulge, we can’t bear the thought of coming home with another coordinated coral-and-white striped cotton knit outfit with detachable shoulder pads. You not only let us down but destroyed a Southern California tradition.
