Homosexuals and the Military

Share

Even the suggestion by President Clinton that gays can serve in the military in a limited capacity is offensive and should be out of the question. What was suggested, worse than a ban on gays in the military, is segregation.

Coming from the South this President should know all too well the history in this country of the evils of segregation. Inherent in segregation is the acceptance of inequality. When African-Americans became integrated in the structure of the military in an equal role, the military did not suffer. The military was enhanced by our most precious resource--people.

So it will be with the equal treatment of gays in the military.
