Pickup Points Set for Big Trash Items

LA HABRA — The city today will be accepting refuse not normally picked up by the trash company.
Residents can bring their refuse to the City Hall parking lot on Euclid Street, to La Bonita Park on Whittier Boulevard, Oeste Park on Lambert Road, Las Lomas Park on Lomas Drive or Descanso Park on Stearns Avenue, till 3 p.m.
Only La Habra residents will be allowed to bring in their refuse, and proof of residency will be required.
No hazardous or toxic materials will be accepted, but tires and major appliances such as refrigerators, ovens and clothes washers can be dumped in the trash bins at Las Lomas Park.
Senior citizens and handicapped residents, who need help delivering their trash should call the La Habra Public Services Department at (310) 905-9789.
The service is free.
