World IN BRIEF : EGYPT : Extremists Blamed in Killing of Police

Four suspected Muslim extremists shot and killed a senior police officer and two aides in apparent revenge for the killing of a fellow militant in southern Egypt, police said. In Cairo, a bus driver and conductor were wounded when a bomb hidden under a seat blew up as they were examining the device. In a third incident, police said defused explosives planted under a German tourist bus in Cairo and arrested a Muslim extremist for the attempted bombing.
