World IN BRIEF : LEBANON : Radical Palestinian Killed by Gunmen
Gunmen shot and killed a local official of Abu Nidal’s radical Palestinian group and his 9-month-old son in southern Lebanon, security officials said. They said the killers opened fire with silencer-equipped pistols at Faisal Saleh, who was carrying the toddler, outside his home in Sidon, 25 miles south of Beirut. Saleh was an official of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah. No group claimed responsibility, but the council has been locked in a bloody power struggle with the Fatah faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
