From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A 15-year-old British boy went to court in hopes of persuading his mother to spend time with him. Matthew Lucas claims his mother has refused to see him since he left her to live with his father in 1991, seven years after his parents were divorced. Using a law protecting children’s rights, Matthew wants the courts to persuade his mother to change her mind. Lawyers say it is the first time the British Children’s Act has been used in such a way. “Despite what she’s done I still love her; I will always love her,” Matthew told reporters.
