World IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : 2-Minute Standstill Marks Holocaust

Israel came to a two-minute standstill while air-raid sirens wailed in memory of 6 million Jews exterminated by the Nazis in World War II. Drivers braked and got out of their cars when sirens sounded at midmorning. Pedestrians and shoppers froze to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.
