World IN BRIEF : EGYPT : Mubarak Aide, 2 Others Hurt in Assassination Bid

Gunmen fired at a car carrying one of President Hosni Mubarak’s key aides, wounding him and two assistants in the Cairo suburb of Heliopolis. The government’s Middle East News Agency said one of the attackers was arrested. Information Minister Safwat Sharif suffered a minor hand wound. His driver and a bodyguard were hospitalized with serious gunshot wounds. Gamaa al Islamiya, or Islamic Group, claimed that it carried out the assassination attempt.
