Orange Coast Magazine Editor Resigns: Orange Coast magazine’s editor of four years, Erik Himmelsbach, said Wednesday that he has resigned to take a position as managing editor of the LA Reader in Los Angeles. Costa Mesa-based Orange Coast promoted Lynn Beresford, formerly managing editor, to replace him. Himmelsbach, 28, a former free-lance contributor to Newsweek magazine, said he expects the Reader to focus on reaching people on L.A.’s west side and to give competitor LA Weekly “a run for its money.” Commenting on the decision to let Himmelsbach go Wednesday when he had offered to stay through May 10, Orange Coast’s advertising director, Linda Goldstein, said “we wanted to let the new regime begin.”
