The husband of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, jailed for the last two years on murder charges, was sworn in Thursday as one of 17 new ministers in Pakistan’s 5-day-old caretaker government that will govern until July 14 elections.

Asif Ali Zardari, 39, took the oath of office just two months after he was released on bail by a special anti-terrorist court.

Interim Prime Minister Balkh Sher Mazari was appointed Sunday after President Ghulam Ishaq Khan pushed out Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for alleged corruption, nepotism and terrorizing his opponents.
