Simi Valley police early Friday arrested two men suspected of breaking into cars that had been left overnight at the Metrolink parking lot, police said.

Officers were alerted at 3 a.m. that two men were looking inside cars at the lot in the 5000 block of East Los Angeles Avenue, police said. When police arrived, the suspects ran but one was caught, police said.

The second suspect was caught when he returned to his residence a short time later, police said.

Jason Hooper, 18, and Gregory Ferrara, 20, of Simi Valley were being held on suspicion of burglary at the Ventura County Jail on $10,000 bail. All of the property taken from three cars was recovered, police said.

Car burglaries at the lot are an occasional problem because some people leave vehicles overnight when they ride the commuter train south, Sgt. Joe Loniero said.
