Steelmaker Cuts Back: Kawasaki Steel Corp., Japan’s third-largest crude steelmaker, will cut its work force by 3,200 over the next three years to reduce costs. The company had earlier proposed reducing staff by about 900. The company will cut 2,300 jobs in steel production, 600 in administration and management and 300 in non-steel sections, an official said. The company will also slash capital investment through March, 1994, by about 45%.
