Ford Recalls Some Cars in California: Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling about 16,200 subcompact Escort, Lynx and EXP cars from the 1987, 1989 and 1990 model years to ensure that they comply with emissions standards. The cars affected by the recall have 1.9-liter engines and were built for sale in California or certain high-altitude regions. Dealers will modify the exhaust systems free of charge, the second-largest U.S. auto maker said.
