Car Bomb in Mafia Town Injures Officer

ROME —
A car bomb exploded Friday in a reputed Mafia stronghold taken over by the federal government. A police officer was seriously injured in the blast.
The officer set off the explosives when he tried to open a door of the car in front of Town Hall in Terlizzi, about 225 miles southeast of Rome, news agencies reported.
