Clearing Up ‘Pools’

Share

In your article headlined “Face Lifts for Aging Pools,” (April 4) the statement, “If the application of the material isn’t perfect, the Inter-Glass material can eventually delaminate, or peel away from the sides of the pool,” is erroneous.

Inter-Glass is a specialty fiberglass pool and spa coating and is a registered trademark of American Chem-Tech Inc. Inter-Glass is not to be interchangeably with the generic term fiberglass.

Inter-Glass is installed using a patented application process that helps prevent the delamination sometimes found with other fiberglass products, even those from companies who claim to use the so-called “new technologies.

As the originator of the hand-laid method, Inter-Glass has resurfaced more than 17,000 swimming pools, both private and commercial, with few service problems. Well-known companies such as Princess Hotels and Marriott Hotels, as well as thousands of homeowners, have trusted Inter-Glass and our 25-year limited warranty on materials and labor.

As the nation’s leading fiberglass swimming pool resurfacing company, we are proud of our product and our record. However, in pool resurfacing, like everything else, there are good and bad companies. Consumers should be aware of the problems associated with fiber-glassing their pools--delamination and chalking--before selecting a fiberglass company whose track record, history, price and references meet their expectations.
